Adult Ministry

Small Groups

We have a large array of small groups available at Pioneer. If you are interested in

gettting involved in a small group please contact the church by phone (509) 525-1870 or

GEMS (Older Adult)

GEMS is a loving caring ministry by older adults to older adults meeting areas of spiritual

growth, learning, outreach and fellowship opportunities. We get together frequently

throughout the year for a variety of events, some of which include potlucks, book

discussion group, picnics, afternoon at the movies, bus trips to points of interest, dinner

theater, special afternoon senior worship services, shopping trips, game days, breakfast

out, as well as many other activities too numerous to list. Any older adult (retirement age

and beyond) is welcome to participate in GEMS events.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women (UMW) exists to serve Pioneer Church by offering women the

chance to know God, fellowship with others and support local, community and national

missions. We have two circles that meet the first Wednesday of the month. Sunrise

Circle is held at 9:30 a.m. at the church and Joy Circle meets at 1:30 p.m. at the

Oddfellow’s home. The second Wednesday of the month, we meet together for a potluck

luncheon at noon in the church parlor. Men are invited, too. We have speakers who

present on many different topics including the Senior Center, the homeless, the

Community Center for Youth and the Crop Walk. We would love to have you join us at

any of our meetings!

Men’s Breakfast Fellowship

The Men’s Breakfast Fellowship is held the third Saturday of the month at 7:30 a.m. in

the parlor. All men are welcome to attend.

Older Adult Book Group

The Older Adult Book Group meets the third Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at the

church.

Lit and Latte

Lit and Latte is a women’s book group that meets the first Wednesday of every month.

We read a wide range of books including but not limited to fiction, nonfiction, biography

and mystery. You can find us at Coffee Perk from 7 to 9 p.m. in the back corner booth.
